National Stop the Bleed Month: Why Everyone Should Be Trained

Emergencies don’t wait for perfect timing. Whether it's a car accident, a workplace injury, or an unexpected act of violence, severe bleeding can become life-threatening in minutes. May is National Stop the Bleed Month, a time dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of bleeding control training and empowering everyday people to save lives.

At White Knight Solutions Group, we believe that preparedness isn’t just about personal safety—it’s about being ready to help those in need. As Proverbs 3:27 reminds us, "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act." Learning to stop life-threatening bleeding is one of the simplest and most effective ways to make a difference in critical moments.

Why Stop the Bleed Training Matters

Severe bleeding is a leading cause of preventable death in trauma situations. Without immediate action, a person can bleed out in less than five minutes. Emergency responders do their best to arrive quickly, but often, bystanders are the true first responders. Knowing how to apply direct pressure, pack a wound, and apply a tourniquet can mean the difference between life and death.

The American College of Surgeons developed the Stop the Bleed program to train civilians in these lifesaving techniques. The goal is simple: give everyone the knowledge and confidence to act when it matters most.

Join Us for Stop the Bleed Training

In recognition of National Stop the Bleed Month, White Knight Solutions Group is offering Stop the Bleed classes every Wednesday in May 2025, from 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM. We thank the Safety Team at Journey Church, on Vint Hill in Warrenton, VA for being our gracious hosts. These hands-on sessions will teach you:

  • How to recognize life-threatening bleeding

  • Direct pressure methods to stop bleeding fast

  • Effective wound packing techniques

  • The proper use of tourniquets

This training is essential for parents, teachers, business owners, church security teams, and anyone who wants to be better prepared to protect their community. Each class includes a pre-packaged Bleeding Control Kit to take home.

Be Ready. Be a Lifesaver.

Preparedness isn’t just about having the right tools—it’s about having the right knowledge and the heart to act. As we take time this May to focus on bleeding control training, we encourage you to step up, learn these vital skills, and be someone’s hero when seconds count.
